Praying for the Gulf States

Just a quick word of support and prayer for all who are in Hurricane Gustav's path.
You are in our thoughts and prayers during this time of uncertainty and fear. May the storm simply fizzle out and may you return to fully intact and healthy homes.

With love especially to my friends Lisa and Nathan who only just finished rebuilding their home after Katrina.

Love,

Jan

The thoughts and prayers of many people in the United Kingdom are also with the people of New Orleans and the surrounding area. It's reassuring to see how well organised the evacuation seems to be and we hope, that should the worst happen, the people won't be left to suffer like they were three years ago.

I would also like to mention the dreadful situation in Bihar, India, where half a million people are stranded after devastating flooding. Please pray for them too. (More information on the BBC website, www.bbc.co.uk)

Absolutely right, thanks so much the reminder. While we're at it we should remember the survivors of the earthquake in China as well which hit in the same place as the May earthquake in Sichuan province. http://www.boston.com/news/world/asia/articles/2008/08/31/quake_in_china_kills_at_least_22/

Thankfully Gustav doesn't appear to have been as fierce as first feared. Sadly Hanna and Ike are on their way, and likely to be hurricane force as well.

I feel very grateful for the benign British climate .... and now I'm wondering why I used to moan so much about the Portland rain.

Love to you and yours,
